USE ME - Coming soon from 15mm.co.uk
Hello Everyone,
Its been a real corker of a month at 15mm.co.uk with lots of new miniature release, news and behind the scenes work and effort. It gives me great pleasure to be able to announce the existance of a new games system here on the Barking Irons blog..first..before anywhere else.
Above you can see two images of the current working covers of the USE ME 15mm science fiction system book.
USE ME stands for 'Ultra Simple Engine for Miniature Engagements'.
Without going into too much detail at this point USE ME is the final development of the D6 engine that I and Alexander Scott and a few others have been using for many settings over the last five years in-house. Its totally simple, really easy to learn and it works well.
Copies of it in its raw form went back and forth to some of our best customers and as a result some of them asked why we had never published it so others could enjoy it too. Really there is no good reason, simply that it did not occur to us to do so.
So to that end we have begun work on turning the USE ME game system into a full booklet for 15mm science fiction gaming. Early copies have gone out to our trusted friends including Bob Minadeo the writer of Firefight 2.0, Mike White creator of the Flintloque 3rd engine and Mark Hannam over at Dropship Horizon Blog. All of them enjoyed it a lot and gave some great feedback.
More news will be coming soon including an examination of how the engine works and its uses plus what the punchy little book will contain. Already its been decided to make this system pocket size, really affordable and to print it in A6 format (which is some 148mm by 105mm so really portable).
I really do hope that all of you out there will enjoy this little game that we have kept private all this time. Who knows...perhaps you just might.

Nepolise Dreams on Orcs in the Webbe
Hello Barkers,
A shameless bit of self promotion from me this time and its all about my regular column on the 'Orcs on the Webbe' website.
Orcs on the Webbe is run by the omni talented Mr Craig Andrews a life long die hard fan of the black powder fantasy genre of gaming in which of course the mighty Flintloque stands centre and proud..original and best!
OITW is the place to get tons of free material for black powder gaming including scenarios, articles and much more. New and classic material sits side by side, a labour of love for all to enjoy.
Sat pride of place among all the goodies is the ITA (Inside the Alternative) column written by myself, based on questions asked by Craig that his viewers want answers to. The current ITA column is not the first and a list of the others can be seen on OITW. They are all worth reading and contain info that you might well not see anywhere else.
This time Orcs in the Webbe presents;
Nepolise Dreams!
An indepth look at the Todoroni of Nepolise.
A firm favourite and comedy filled nation in the World of Valon.
Have a Read - HERE
If you have a request for the subject of a furture ITA column then drop Craig a line or email me directly and I will certainly pass it on to him.
Enjoy!

Next Barking Irons Magazine - Delays and Dystopia
Hello Everyone,
Well its overdue but here we are. Barking Irons No 2 is now late for publication and for that I am sorry. Me personally, not the rest of the team, as I am editor of the magazine and it lays at my door to make sure commitments are made. I will not offer excuses but those of you who know me personally will realise that I have been ill and have a rather heavy workload at most times. As BI is a labour of love for me its me own baby as they say.
The magazine will be complete in about a week, its in bits here around me. Plus thanks to those of you who have sent in material for issue number 3 and 4, I fully intend to make use of it as soon as slots open up in the page planner.
By the weekend I will put up a sample page to get you shuffling with excitement. Have a look at these two previous posts and if any of the articles gets your interest post in the comments to this item and I will try and make it one of these pages.
Here are the links to the other blog postings have a look:
